Rochester Area Community Foundation and Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Foundation provides $25,000 grant for Girls Sports Sampling & Mentorship Camp

ROCHESTER, N.Y. - Last summer, we hosted our inaugural Girls Sports Sampling & Mentorship Camp thanks to a $25,000 grant from the Rochester Area Community Foundation and the Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Foundation.

Forty (40) girls in grades 3-8 from Monroe County registered for the three-week camp, that provided a dynamic experience focused on leadership, healthy living, and self-confidence. Guided by an experienced all-women staff, participants engaged in daily mentorship sessions and received expert sports instruction in basketball, lacrosse, and flag football.

“We are incredibly grateful for the support from the Rochester Area Community Foundation and the Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Foundation,” said Jazz Haywood, Founder and Executive Director of Jazz Network. “This funding enables us to create a safe and empowering environment where girls can develop leadership skills, stay active, and form lasting friendships.”
